Indonesia is a country rich in natural resources, but it is unfortunate if the lives of the people of Indonesia are at the poverty line. One contributing factor is the lack of qualified human resources. Education is necessary to support the future, even with public education can improve their standard of living. It could be said that education is a key to the progress of a nation. Through education we are taught skills, science, technology, and maturation.What percent of Indonesia's population is capable of taking education to college? Instead of college, the nine-year compulsory education program alone many Indonesian people who are not able to finish. Only people from the upper middle class who can afford to send their children to college.
Until now Indonesia's population are illiterate reach about 4.7%.To create intelligent people perceived Nine-year compulsory education program is not able to meet the needs of qualified human resources at this time. Most companies will only accept employees with a minimum of S1 degree, and how the fate of the Indonesian people who are unable to continue their education up to the level. Surely they would just get the job potluck, or most of them will be unemployed, beggars, or vagrants.It is very unfortunate the government budget for education is not too large compared to other budgets. But hopefully with the government plan that would raise the allocation of funds for education, the nation's intelligence can be improved. Estimated government budget for education in 2011 will increase, amounting to Rp50, 3 trillion. The funds will be used to increase the allowances of teachers that reached 56%. Expected to increase the welfare of the teachers, they will provide better educational services as well.In addition, the government also plans to increase the coverage and capacity of the school through the development of new schools and the addition of new classrooms. In addition, the School Operational Assistance (BOS) is still given to the schools, madrassas, salafiyah, and non-Islamic religious school which organizes compulsory nine-year basic education. Education budget is also planned to provide scholarships to poor students at all levels. So that education can be enjoyed by all walks of life, and did not rule everyone can participate in the development of the nation.
